PUMPKIN STANDS
October 27, 2021 - We did a fun STEM project before the Halloween weekend called "Pumpkin Stands." Students worked together to build a stand with straws and tape to hold up a 2.5 pound pumpkin. The results were a lot of fun as stands made with the flimsy straws were not stable enough for the heavy pumpkin unless our young engineers know the secret: "Strength in Numbers!"
In 40 tension-filled minutes, all 16 groups gave it their best shot, but only three were successful: Gretal & Melinda, Clarke & Xiaoqing, and Thomas & Jerica.
For the champions, they won the Unicorn Award, $50 STEM dollars, and their names on our class' "Wall of Fame." Congratulations to all.
