LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
February 4, 2022 - Our class celebrated Lunar New Year with a brief history of the Lunar New Year and saw a video about how the New Year is celebrated in different Asian cultures. To begin our New Year celebration, Melinda (being the oldest student) represented the class to wish Mr. Pham a "happy new year, good health, and lose some weight!!!" Then it's Mr. Pham's turn to wish us a happy new year with a lot of success. Afterwards, Mr. Pham handed out “Red Envelopes” that we made but with a special Year of the Tiger money inside to wish us good fortune through the New Year 2022.
After the ceremonies, we played Lunar New Year "games of chance" using class money and bought munchies from the "Tiger Store." It was a lot of fun celebrating the Year of the Tiger and playing games with friends.
